"Chopard Loves Cinema"- Red Carpet Collection takes inspiration from cinema itself as well as films new and old that have made a lasting impact. Scheufele designed and Chopard artisans produced 75 one-of-a-kind high jewels incited by the cinema from its early black and white charms to its bewildering modern up-to-date colours. In the same way, Chopard will produce one jewel each year for the festival.

The opening of the collection was presented with a standout brooch in the shape of a rose encrusted with pave diamonds on a black stem and leaves. The black and white jewel was inspired by Charlie Chaplin's first sound film, City Lights, which Scheufele described as a “pivotal moment in cinema” and its a testimony of love and a prove of singular elegance on men and women alike

Since 2014, we have also used this symbol of the festival, the Palme d'Or, to draw the world's attention to the theme of ethics and environmental responsibility. Our workshops have made the award the first ethical film trophy, crafted from Fairmined-certified gold," says Scheufele.
