Plume de Chanel: The Elegance of Lightness in High Jewellery

Chanel has once again redefined high jewellery with the 2025 Plume de Chanel collection, a tribute to Maison’s legacy of effortless elegance. Inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s love for feathers, this collection breathes movement and lightness into precious stones, proving that high jewellery can be as fluid as fashion.

A Legacy of Feathers

The feather motif has been a recurring symbol in Chanel’s designs since 1910 when Gabrielle Chanel incorporated plumes into her millinery creations. Later in 1932, she introduced feathers into high jewellery with Bijoux de Diamants, her first diamond collection. This collection broke from the rigid, formal jewellery traditions of the time, embracing versatility and wearability values that continue to shape Chanel’s creations today.

The 2025 Collection: A Symphony of Lightness and Movement

For 2025, the Plume de Chanel collection brings a modern interpretation to this classic theme. Designed with movement in mind, each piece is created to feel weightless against the skin, undulating like real feathers in the wind. The collection features six sets of intricately designed jewellery, adorned with a harmonious blend of diamonds, pink sapphires, and tourmalines.

Plume Rose de Chanel brooch and across-the-hand ring, crafted in pink gold, shimmer delicately with pink tourmalines and sapphires. The soft curves of the feather motif mimic the natural movement of a real plume, making it appear as if floating.

Plume Couture Necklace, is a three-tiered masterpiece featuring diamonds, pink sapphires, and a central pink tourmaline. Designed with adjustable configurations, this necklace can be worn as a one-strand choker, a double-wrapped necklace, or a waist-grazing statement piece.

Plume Singulière Necklace & Diadem continues this theme of movement and adaptability. The necklace features a detachable diamond-set feather and an adjustable clasp, offering multiple styling options. Meanwhile, the diadem, crafted in white gold, showcases a striking 1.5-carat diamond, bringing a modern twist to head jewellery.

The Plume Libre Brooches embrace asymmetry, with one designed in white gold with diamonds and the other in rose gold with pink sapphires. These pieces can be worn singly or together, emphasizing versatility and artistic expression.

Plume Mademoiselle Necklace which highlights an extraordinary 6.22-carat D Flawless pear-shaped diamond, suspended from the base of a finely sculpted feather. This design pays homage to Mademoiselle Chanel’s love for diamonds and her belief in jewellery as an extension of a woman’s elegance.

Plume de Chanel Earrings & Rings where white gold settings enhance the brilliance of asymmetrical diamond pieces. Designed to be soft against the skin, these pieces ensure comfort and ease of wear for any occasion.

Chanel’s Signature Craftsmanship

Each piece in this collection is designed to move naturally, echoing the effortless grace of real feathers. Chanel’s master artisans have achieved this by:

Using ultra-fine metalwork to create flexible, articulated structures.

Setting diamonds and gemstones with precision to enhance their brilliance while maintaining a weightless feel. Incorporating detachable and adjustable elements to allow for multiple ways of styling each piece.

A Celebration of Femininity and Freedom

Gabrielle Chanel once said, "Jewellery should be like a ribbon, light and supple." The Plume de Chanel collection embodies this philosophy, offering women the freedom to wear high jewellery effortlessly. Whether draped over the shoulders, wrapped around the fingers, or pinned onto a gown, these pieces embrace both sophistication and fluidity.

A New Era for High Jewellery

With the Plume de Chanel 2025 collection, Chanel proves that high jewellery can be as dynamic and versatile as fashion. By reinventing the feather motif with contemporary craftsmanship and innovative design, the Maison celebrates its timeless legacy while embracing modern elegance.
