At the 2025 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), Dior once again captivates with La D de Dior Buisson Couture, nominated in the Jewellery Watch category. This exceptional creation, imagined by Dior’s Jewellery Creative Director Victoire de Castellane, blossoms as a true ode to nature and artistry.
Inspired by her acclaimed Les Jardins de la Couture High Jewellery collection unveiled in 2023, de Castellane carries forward her poetic exploration of nature. The collection celebrated couture-inspired gardens—garlands of flowering “bushes” that evoke the delicate craftsmanship of embroidered florals. With La D de Dior Buisson Couture, these couture gardens bloom anew, transformed into a precious, living timepiece.
A Garden of Precious Stones
Every detail of the watch evokes a luxuriant yet refined garden. Its dial, bezel, crown, and case back are adorned with diamonds, pink sapphires, and tsavorites in a harmonious palette of green and pink, set in soft pink gold. A medley of cuts—brilliant, pear, oval, and marquise—creates the natural volume and density of petals and leaves, thanks to Dior’s master artisans who achieve invisible settings that preserve the purity of each stone.
A Masterpiece of Craftsmanship
The watch is as much a technical feat as it is a work of beauty. The gem-setting alone demanded over 150 hours of manual work for the 1,088 stones that make up the dial, while the entire creation required 480 hours of craftsmanship. The off-centered time display at 3 o’clock, with golden hands set against a background of diamonds, discreetly blends into the composition, ensuring that the lush bouquet remains the true protagonist.
Couture, Nature, and Emotion
With this creation, Dior bridges the worlds of haute couture, high jewellery, and horology. La D de Dior Buisson Couture is a celebration of beauty, sensuality, and emotion—an ode both to the artistic universe of Victoire de Castellane and to Christian Dior himself, a devoted lover of flowers and gardens.
This masterpiece not only represents the pinnacle of Dior’s savoir-faire but also redefines what it means for time to bloom on the wrist.
