IIJS Premiere 2025 Concludes: A Grand Celebration of India’s Jewellery Legacy and Global Vision

As the curtains draw on the 41st edition of IIJS Premiere, held from 30th July to 4th August 2025 across two iconic venues in Mumbai — the Jio World Convention Centre (BKC) and the Bombay Exhibition Centre (Goregaon) — I can say with absolute conviction: this was the most spectacular jewellery show I have ever experienced.

Organised by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), this year’s edition, under the stirring theme “Architecture of India”, brought to life India’s architectural grandeur through exquisite jewellery design. With over 2,100 exhibitors, 3,600+ booths, and more than 50,000 trade visitors from 80+ countries, the event has firmly established itself as the second-largest B2B gem and jewellery exhibition in the world.

A Personal Milestone: Honoured by the Industry

This edition of IIJS Premiere held deep personal significance for me. I had the honour of being felicitated by GJEPC during the media recognition ceremony at the INNOV8 Launch Pad. Recognised for my contribution to India’s jewellery narrative through storytelling, digital presence, and media coverage — alongside esteemed media professionals — was nothing short of thrilling and deeply validating.

Machinery Pavilion: A New Era of Innovation

One of the standout experiences for me was witnessing the second-day inauguration of the India Gem & Jewellery Machinery Expo, a powerful showcase of India’s technological advancement in jewellery manufacturing. The dedicated machinery pavilion this year was the largest ever — uniting the entire machinery segment under one massive roof.

The inauguration was led by Mr. Kirit Bhansali and a member of the trade organisation, symbolising the growing focus on industrial precision and innovation.

The sheer scale and futuristic technology on display confirmed India’s emergence as not just a design capital, but also a manufacturing and tech powerhouse in the jewellery world.

GJEPC’s Global Vision: IIJS Comes to Saudi Arabia

On the sidelines of IIJS Premiere, GJEPC made a historic announcement — the launch of the first-ever India International Jewellery Show in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to be held from 11–13 September 2025. With over 250 Indian companies and global exhibitors participating, this strategic move is set to strengthen Indo-Saudi jewellery trade ties, which could potentially grow to $9 billion in the coming years.

This bold expansion reinforces India’s position as a global leader in the gem and jewellery trade, in line with GJEPC’s vision to grow from $85 billion today to $130 billion by 2030.

Tackling Challenges, Embracing Opportunity

Despite global economic headwinds, shifting consumer trends, and intense demand cycles, India’s gem and jewellery industry continues to show resilience, innovation, and strength. IIJS Premiere 2025 proved that the industry is not just surviving — it’s thriving, with robust collaborations, a surge in sustainable practices, and renewed confidence in both the workforce and leadership.

The UK–India jewellery trade, currently valued at $1 billion, is also projected to double in the coming years — further cementing India’s role in shaping the global jewellery landscape.

Conclusion: A Brilliant Bharat, A Brilliant Future

IIJS Premiere 2025 was not just an exhibition — it was a movement, a testament to India’s cultural legacy, and a platform for the future of global jewellery. From eco-conscious designs and architecture-inspired collections to powerful networking, tech innovation, and international collaborations — the show delivered on every front.

For me personally, being part of this journey, witnessing the inauguration of game-changing machinery, engaging with visionaries, and receiving recognition from GJEPC was a career highlight — one I will carry forward with pride and purpose.

As we now look ahead to Jeddah in September, one thing is certain: India’s jewellery story is just getting started, and it’s shining brighter than ever.
