As the jewellery world eagerly anticipates its next big event, I’m excited to bring you an in-depth look at the upcoming Milano Jewellery Week 2024. Taking place from October 15 to 20, this prestigious week will transform Milan into the epicenter of jewellery design, showcasing the latest innovations and trends from both Italy and across the globe. Organized by Prodes Italia and supported by Assogemme and CNA, Milano Jewellery Week promises to attract a broad international audience of jewellery enthusiasts, collectors, and industry professionals.
Milan will be a beacon for the jewellery world for six days, uniting over 500 participants from more than 60 countries. With exhibitions, workshops, and talks, Milano Jewellery Week will dive deep into the many facets of jewellery creation—from contemporary design and fine craftsmanship to the exploration of new technologies and materials.
MJW Awards 2024: Celebrating Excellence in Jewellery Design and Innovation
The MJW Awarding Night is an unforgettable evening, with over 30 awards recognising the best and brightest in the jewellery industry. Among the highlights of the event is the announcement of the Artistar Jewels competition winners, an honor bestowed by a prestigious panel of judges including Bryna Pomp, Muriel Plasier, Guido Solari, Alessio Boschi, and myself, Shohista Turdiyeva, the Founder of Jewellery Pursuer.
Artistar Jewels: A Platform for Visionary Design
Artistar Jewels has become a crucial platform for emerging talents and established designers to showcase their creativity. This year’s judging process is underway, with jurors reviewing the stunning pieces compiled in the Artistar Jewels book. Each design is assessed based on artistry, innovation, and craftsmanship.
Collaborations for 2024
This year’s edition builds on a network of prestigious partnerships that have solidified Milano Jewellery Week as one of the most anticipated events in the industry. Partnerships with AOL (Associazione Orafa Lombarda), ACJ (Association for Contemporary Jewellery), HRD Antwerp, A.N.T.I.C.O (Associazione Nazionale Tutela il Comparto Oro), Assemblage, and Scuola Orafa Galdus have been reconfirmed, creating a strong foundation for industry knowledge sharing and cross-border collaborations. In addition, two new global partners—Piazza Italia and INHORGENTA—have joined this year, reinforcing Milano Jewellery Week’s standing as a global event.
The event aims to bridge tradition and innovation, providing an opportunity for established and emerging designers to share their stories, inspirations, and craftsmanship with a broad audience. It’s a space where new ideas can flourish and where the past and future of jewelry design come together.
What makes Milano Jewellery Week even more exciting is that it’s not just for industry insiders! Many events are open to the public, providing an opportunity for jewellery lovers to immerse themselves in this world of luxury and artistry. The range of activities on offer ensures there is something for everyone—whether you're a professional designer, a dedicated collector, or simply a lover of fine jewelry. Exhibitions will feature both traditional and contemporary pieces, while workshops and talks will provide insights into the latest techniques, materials, and trends shaping the future of jewellery design.
A Hub for Jewellery Excellence
Milan, known globally for its fashion and design excellence, is the perfect stage for such a prestigious event. As a city that celebrates creativity and craftsmanship, Milan will once again confirm its place as a major international hub for jewellery design. The synergy between Milan’s rich cultural heritage and its forward-thinking design industry will be on full display, allowing participants and visitors alike to experience the city in a whole new light.
Milano Jewellery Week will be an extraordinary opportunity for networking, professional growth, and creative exchange. The event will showcase the stories of those who are at the forefront of innovation in jewellery design, offering a platform where tradition meets contemporary artistry.
Talks
I will also be participating in an insightful talk titled "An Importance of Data, Online Presence, and Cross-Industry Networking in the Jewellery World.” I will be joined by Agnes Abdullahu, Founder of the Dia Mondaine Diamantaires Club, and Maha Al Sibai, Chairman of the Dubai Business Group for Gold & Jewelry Designers. They will explore how informed sourcing, digital presence, and collaborative networking are transforming the global jewelry landscape.
The Future of Jewelry: Data, Social Media, and Cross-Industry Collaborations:
The talk will delve into the transformation of the jewellery industry through ethical sourcing, knowledge sharing, and a focus on storytelling. The speakers will discuss how social media has become a driving force behind jewellery trends, how data is shaping business decisions, and why partnerships within and outside the jewellery industry are critical to success.
Milano Jewellery Week is set to be a spectacular celebration of the craftsmanship, artistry, and passion that define the jewelry world. Whether you’re attending as an enthusiast or an industry expert, this is an event you cannot miss.
