Crowning Glory: The Best Jewelry Moments from Met Gala 2025 — From Dandy Brooches to Regal Necklaces

The Met Gala, known as the “Super Bowl of fashion,” returned on May 5, 2025, with unmatched flair, flamboyance, and a focus on heritage. This year's theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, paid homage to the history and sophistication of Black dandyism a style rooted in pride, self-expression, resistance, and meticulous detail. Inspired by scholar Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the gala theme and its accompanying Costume Institute exhibition dove deep into how fashion intersects with Black identity.

Fittingly, this year’s dress code was “Tailored for You”, highlighting menswear, impeccable tailoring, and the often-overlooked power of accessories, particularly jewelry. From bejeweled lapels to symbolic brooches and heritage necklaces, jewelry became the voice of legacy, status, and cultural pride.
