World-Renowned Jewelry Creator & Innovator, Wallace Chan, Unveiled his latest innovation, "The Wallace Chan Porcelain” in New York, on 27 November 2018.
This New, Groundbreaking Porcelain is Five Times Stronger than Steel. The Wallace Cut is well known for inventing an illusionary multidimensional gemstone carving technique called Chan and being a pioneer in creating one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces with space-aged metal titanium, debuted the porcelain material in the form of 14 new jewellery creations during a private showcase.

Each creation is a philosophical exploration of the universe, depicting stories of the past and present, and laying out his vision for the future. Chan’s fascination with porcelain began at an early age. At five years old, he broke a porcelain spoon. The vivid memory of that experience never left him, and became his inspiration.

Chan started collecting porcelain artifacts in his 20s, and in 2011, in order to fulfill his creative visions, he began experimenting on a material that is heavily rooted in culture and history, has rich color, intense luster, strength, toughness and a contemporary spirit – The Wallace Chan Porcelain.

Wallace Chan's new pieces will be part of an upcoming solo exhibition at Christie’s Hong Kong (open to the public 1/14-1/18/2019), where Mr. Chan will present a multiverse of culture, craftsmanship and creativity in the form of more than 80 creations — many of which have not yet been seen. The exhibition will take viewers on a journey through time and space with contemporary sculptures, wearable works of art, and pieces composed of the artist’s innovations over the past 45 years—including The Wallace Cut, titanium mastery, patented jade technology, Gemstone-Setting-Gemstone Technique, Secret Abyss and now, The Wallace Chan Porcelain.
